Description : Take a step back in time and visit the one hundred year old `St Isidore Mill - built and used by the German Trappist monks for milling their maize - beautiful yellowwood pillars & Baltic pine floorboards & beams. Old Farm equipment plus the authentic Blacksmith`s workshop - just as it was when the remaining monk stepped out of it for the last time! Individual self-guided tours or guided tours for group of 10 where one can sit back & enjoy tea & scones whilst learning about the history of the mission station. Then watch & listen to the thump of the old engine and the whirr of the belts & cogs as the ancient mill - works start to turn the millstones. Open 9.00a.m - 4.00p.m Mondays to Fridays, weekends groups only, guided tours by prior arrangement.
Locality : Situated on Sutherland Farm on District Rd. 527, just outside Ixopo Village & 2,7 km from the intersection of the R612 & R56.
